I’m sitting in my usual writing spot. A place where I’m surrounded by my Angels, both celestial and physical. This is my spot—an oasis with only peaceful energy, nature out every window, and stillness. But today, there is something different to see, feel, and hear!
Family…my son and his girlfriend have returned home! It’s been over a year since I’ve heard their voices, seen their smiles, and felt their energy. They are a welcomed distraction, full of life, and a wonderful interruption to my daily writing routine. With all my children in the same house my heart is nourished and dancing to a melody I haven’t heard for quite some time! For me, family is my greatest inspiration and an abundant source of joy!
There was a time in my life that I would have felt quite differently. There would have been guilt and judgment for not writing or working; an internal struggle – work or family? When I feel this way, I’m not present, and when I’m not present, I’m missing out on the joy of both writing and spending time with family. Now, I’ve let all that shit go. Time spent with them is but a precious moment in time, and I want to cherish every second!
We must be present for our children (young and old); this is the best way to connect. They know when we’re not paying attention when speaking, which really impacts their self-esteem and confidence. If we want our children to have self-love and self-worth, we must spend quality time with them. When they believe in themselves, they won’t be so influenced by others.
So, let’s all treasure our little and big jewels! We have to recognize their multifaceted, exquisite, and most precious characteristics! They’re all divine and precious and deserve our time and attention to shine brightly!
Until next time… tend to your jewels!
