How can we be approaching July’s doorstep?
The kids will be uncaged soon, roaming the streets, hungry for freedom, and vocalizing their presence! A much-deserved escape! Summer plans will be brewing with the anticipation of warm, sunny days spent with family and friends! I love hearing the kids on the streets at the end of June; their laughter and smiles are a welcomed distraction! This summer will feel a lot different than last.
I've thought about our children more than anything this past year—all the changes they’ve had to endure. I’ve worried about their mental and emotional health and how they would survive the pandemic. But yet, they’ve kept afloat thanks to parents and teachers that have helped them navigate the choppy waters, supported them, and been their anchor.
I believe our children will come out stronger. At their young age, they were forced to experience something that was unfamiliar to all of us. I have to think that they will be more resilient due to these experiences because without hope, what do we have? They definitely will be better prepared to deal with the stresses of everyday life as they carry on. There is a lesson in every experience. I salute our strong little souls!
If I had one wish for our young generation, it would be this:
My Precious Children
The world is full of wonders! Seek out those wonders.
Enjoy your life; sing, laugh, have fun!
Believe in yourself! There’s no one else like you nor will
there ever be!
Live each and every moment!
Enjoy the sunshine, accept the rain and find a way to dance in the rain. Find joy in the little things.
Pay attention to your life; that’s your internal compass, your guide.
You are free to create your own life. Treasure your dreams and express your joy!
Take care of yourself. Never walk in anyone’s shadow and always remain true to yourself!
You are very, very, loved!
I wrote this poem for our children. It’s featured at the end of my book, “Empowering our Future.” I believe through children, we can bring more compassion and connection into the world! It’s our job to teach them how to face life’s challenges, make good choices, and believe in their ability to do so. There are no words to describe how they’ve changed my life. I have gained a new perspective and became a better person! I will never stop teaching children about themselves because this is the way to a brighter future!
Until next time…all my love!
