Wow! July is slipping away like sands through the hourglass… and our lives have taken on the full abundance of summer!
Social media provides us with many ways to share our holidays and summer adventures, and I must say, I enjoy seeing happier faces this summer! This year, people seem to appreciate their freedom and enjoy their summer activities more than pre-pandemic summers. The energy of gratitude and appreciation is palpable!
It’s so nice to feel a sense of normalcy returning. Although for some, it may be difficult returning to pre-pandemic life. Working from home and having more time with our family was definitely a blessing. I’m not quite sure what our “new normal” will look like. We’ve all experienced great transition and are probably feeling a sense of uncertainty about what our future looks like.
There’s an opportunity here to change our perspective - what if we embrace uncertainty! Not knowing what will happen, what road we will travel, how the world will be, or what the future holds could be exciting! There’s anticipation and excitement in the unknown!
I do empathize with other perspectives. I know for many, being unprepared or unsure of what lies ahead can cause great anxiety. I used to live that way. I liked to control everything that was happening in my life, where I was going, and how I was getting there. I’ve come to realize that when you orchestrate your life this way it causes more stress and restrictions. We must have faith and believe everything is happening exactly how it’s supposed to.
If you don’t get the partner, the job, or the house you were hoping for, maybe it wasn’t right for you, and the universe has a grander plan. I mean, it really is the only way to look at things. Otherwise, we become stuck and cannot move on, grow, and be open to what comes next!
The only thing we can do is focus on the present and make those days the best we can! This doesn’t mean not working hard or not setting goals for ourselves; it just means staying detached from the outcome and not obsessing over how it will turn out. Do what you need to do now, in this moment, and trust the process.
I believe living this way eliminates a lot of stress and helps us to enjoy the moment we’re experiencing right now!
Until next time…embrace the unknown!
