As a child growing up, I always loved my birthday! Once I hit 40, I began to not enjoy them quite as much! I didn’t really appreciate the changes I was noticing in the mirror.
I teach the power of self-talk; how our thoughts affect the way we see and feel about ourselves, and how we see the world. So, how could I legitimately teach what I teach, if I wasn’t “walking the walk.” I knew I had to put self-love back into action! Now, I choose not to focus on what society deems as “beautiful” and instead on what I think is beautiful! The most beautiful women in the world are the ones with the purest hearts; the ones living an authentic life. We should let women know when we admire something about them!!
I love this quote from Wayne Dyer:
“When we change the way we look at things, the things we look at change.”
Now, once again, I celebrate my birthday every year with great enthusiasm! I annoy my family as I dance around and declare, “It’s is my birthday month!” May is my most favorite month! The promise of warmer days, my birthday, Mother’s Day, and anniversary are all in this glorious month!
I also am very grateful to be surrounded by other Taurus women. Some of my dearest friends fall into this category. I respect, admire, and value their friendship (this also includes my non-Taurus friends!)
Usually, my birthday month includes a trip to the mountains! Their majestic grace brings me peace and joy! Another indulgent trait is our love for food! Taurus’s love to overindulge - a nice restaurant, glass of wine, and great company brings us pure pleasure!
Although I am a creature of habit, this year, I will have to celebrate differently. I’m actually looking forward to the change - who would have thought! Perhaps I’ll celebrate with a walk in the ravine, a beautiful meal at home- cooked by my husband, and end the evening with an enchanting fire. There really is so much joy to be found in the little things, if we allow ourselves to feel it.
To all the women in my life that I am so fortunate to have, I cherish you! To all the women out there, I remind you how wonderfully unique you are. You are enough, and you are beautiful!!
Until next time…let’s build each other up!!
